You know how there are certain trends, patterns, motifs and designs which are considered old-man fashion, right? Think plaids and corduroy for instance. One would think that plaids belonged back in the 70s but decades later – here we are: wearing plaids AGAIN is considered the cool fashion boy trend. Same goes for the corduroy trousers and jackets. Fabric that everyone agreed belonged only to their grandpa’s or middle school teacher’s wardrobe was the ‘it’ fashion trend for men this winters. The point being, the fashion trends work in a circle. What was relevant a few decades ago, may come in style again and instead of cringing on it, you would love to flaunt it around. This time, it is time for dad sneakers to kick in!

Chunky, brawny and heavy sneakers have been in vogue for a few months now. You must have seen it featured in various fashion magazines and blogs since a number of high-end shoe brands featured this ‘dad-show’ style in their collection on fashion runways unless you have been living under a rock. Who would have thought that the big ugly huge shoes that you apparently thought only belonged to the 90s fashion scene would become trendy and hip again? Not us! Not us!

For last so many years, high-end sneakers have featured a stealthy edgy and clean-cut silhouette. Almost every day and simpler low-key sneaker designs were considered trendy: mostly just one color with an accent sometimes. This is a complete fashion turnover for men’s shoes. And honestly, if you feel a little hesitant about jumping on the dad sneakers trend, it is understandable. Because for heaven’s sake they are massive and oh-so-loud! And probably your mind would take some time in processing them as not-so-ugly dad shoes.

Massive as they may be, the chunky dad sneakers also have a certain cool factor attached to them. It is safe to say that it is a very edgy street fashion style that is now being incorporated in the high-end fashion scene. Also, there is a sweet nostalgia attached to these sort of sneakers; they are very reminiscent of the 90s Sketchers. Even if at first you feel a little iffy about jumping on the bandwagon of dad sneakers shoe trend, we say give it a go. If for nothing, it would provide a voice to your inner quirkiness through your choice of fashion accessories.
