Dating back 72 years, Dr. Martens, commonly known as Doc Martens or Docs, has a rebellious history often associated with free-thinkers, creatives, and different subcultures. The footwear is famed by its air-cushioned sole, upper shape, welted construction, and yellow stitching.

I finally got my first pair of Dr. Martens last month. I have wanted a pair for so long, but after six years of wearing combat boots in the Army, I didn’t rush to get a pair. Even tho there is so much variety of choices, I went with the platform Jadon boots. The Jadon Boot rocks a smooth, polished leather upper with all the classic comforts you expect from any Dr. Martens boot and a chunkier version of the signature air-cushioned slip-, oil- and abrasion-resistant PVC outsole. They give me Spice Girls vibes, and I know I can dress them up with anything. You will see them repeatedly on the blog this season. It didn’t take long for me to break them in. I was surprised they were comfortable. I assumed they would feel like Herman Monster boots.

One thing Docs are not is cheap. Due to the quality, I understand the $180 price tag. You already know I’m not paying retail price tho. If you watch my Instagram Stories, I mention Shoes.com a lot. I suggest their deals so much they should send me a check. I got them off there for the low at $82. Anytime you purchase from them; you get reward points. Sometimes they have double reward deals. That’s when the significant dollars come off. Make sure to sign up for their emails. They send promo codes about three times a month. I usually purchase it when it is $40+ off and use reward points to get my shoes at affordable prices. What Docs are you thinking about purchasing?
