Two weeks ago I heard the song Down on the radio at work and couldn’t get the song out of my head. All day I work I was like “Are you down, are you down, are you d-d-d-down”. I googled the song and the duo Marian Hill popped up. I posted it on my personal Facebook, and my cuzzo told me I was late and the song is in heavy rotation. I went back to google and read the article from Rolling Stone “Meet Marian Hill, the Most Shazam’d Band in America.”
I listened to their debut album Act One one Spotify, and it is amazing. It has been in heavy rotation for the last two weeks. Even my daughter is singing the songs lol. It’s a mix of R&B and Electronica. Marian Hill is composed of production artist Jeremy Lloyd and vocalist Samantha Gongol from Philly. Act One is an album that you play from start to finish. Your body moves to the melody and Samantha voice. I copped tickets for their DC concert which falls on my birthday.
