Taraji P. Henson – Around the Way Girl: A Memoir

I’ve been a fan of Taraji since her “Sister Sister” days. For a lot of us, she has always been a fan favorite. I purchased her book “Around the Way Girl: A Memoir” last year and didn’t read it.  Before the book, I knew little of her personal life. Recently I had a lot of free time so I picked it up and started reading. It was so freaking good that I read it one day. Her honesty and authenticity leaps off each page. Taraji’s life story has tear jerkers and inspiring. She has been through some real deal hardships. I loved the rawness of her memoir. Reading this book made me feel like I was having a one on one with her. It really made me appreciate her even more. Taraji is not an overnight success. She had a lot of odds against her. She worked her ass off to get where she is at.

One of the takeaways is no matter what your struggle is, you need to drive through them to get to where you want to be. It’s hard work but if you want it you will grind it out.
