Last year I told you about that Ready to Wear designer Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant collaboration. I’m not going to lie I forgot about it. Then today I was emailed the lookbook and everything is better than imagined. The 18 piece collection includes dresses, tops, skirts, and a ball gown in sizes 14 to 28 priced from $48 to $198. We took a lot of inspiration from 1950s ice cream parlors. I wanted there to be a lot of prints and stripes and textures, but still feel modern, with a little vintage feeling as well. Danielle Brooks “did not come to play with you heaux“. She slayed EVERY single look. I love the colors and the male model glam squad lol. I actually got hype because I can see myself rocking every piece. I’ll to tag my family in this to let know what I want for Mother’s Day bahahaha.
Being plus-size, it’s very easy to put a woman in black or navy dress, but to get to show color on my chocolate skin is really fun for me, and it’s not an option that always comes around. And for plus-size women to feel confident in what they’re wearing, Christian hits it on the nail with that, I really appreciate a designer of his stature saying ‘I’m going to design for every woman.’ There is such a huge market. The plus-size industry is huge. Danielle Brooks told People StyleWatch.
